Story of a Love: Allawi Gamal

Do you know when, for various reasons, a player enters your heart on a permanent basis?!?!?!?
It happened to me!
This great Love of mine (my wife doesn't hold me against it ;P) is called Allawi Gamal (457970992) and he is a player born in Iraq.

Below is his story, my CT story and the story of U21 Iraq.

Raised in the youth of a historic user of the Iraqi community, Mod-Berti_blaeser (540948), where he immediately revealed himself to be a player with great prospects, he was sold immediately after the promotion (we talk about the " away” January 2021), to a team that had already decided to focus on him for a very long-term project: the recently founded BB Iraq Team (1602527).
The manager of this team was obviously me who, in that period, had begun to scout what would, in the end, be the record-breaking U21 generation (34) in Iraq, as well as my first experience as a coach.

In the BB Iraq Team Allawi started playing regularly, growing very quickly together with the whole team (which in the meantime also boasted other valid Welsh prospects who also managed to reach the U21).
The first goal achieved, also thanks to the contribution of the young striker, was the victory in series III.16 of season 49 (Iraqi).
From there, a constant militancy in series II.2, which continues to this day.
The only other "trophy" earned with my pupil was the victory of the consolation cup in season 55.
But let's get to the good part: Gamal and his experience in U21.
As previously mentioned, he was in the sights of the U21 team given his high potential (in that generation we had two other very respectable strikers).
As luck would have it, generation 33 was led by Alcoaman (9937992), a valid and very helpful manager who, before his debut in the Continental Cup (CC) allowed the young people of the following generation to play one of the preparation friendlies (23285083), among them there was obviously also Allawi Gamal.
Having reached the WC for the first time in the history of the Iraqi U21, after a heart-pounding round of CC, Alcoaman repeated the gesture giving the younger players a new chance to show off: (23634146).
Clearly joy and contentment were the predominant emotions in those two Fridays spent in front of the pc seeing my player in action.
The surprise was enormous when I saw Gamal being called up to the squad that would face the World Cup and even seeing him start from the first match: (23713630).
For the first goal, a crazy pleasure despite the 2-1 defeat against Peru, I still would have had to wait until matchday 3 (23713773).
In that World Cup, which ended in r1, Gamal made 9 appearances and 2 goals.
From that moment on, out of any national competition, Gamal played 10 times in U21 friendly matches, scoring 3 goals and scoring his first double (24693642) against Mozambique.

Once the adventure of generation 34 began, with me at the wheel and Alcoaman as my assistant, the tension was high: objective no.1 to go to the WC.
The Continental Cup draw wasn't exactly kind but we had no choice: play to get the most points and hope.
Crazy debut at Guam: Gamal scored twice and won 3-1 (25452412).
Unfortunately, the following 6 matches did not see Allawi score but some results still arrived, allowing us to remain in the qualification zone.
Thus we arrive at the moment in which Gamal became for me, and not only: GOLDENBOY.
Matchday n.8, Iraq hosts Uzbekistan: Allawi's return to scoring coincides with a very important victory that gives 3 golden points (25452559).
Matchday n.9 (25452582): Gamal's brace allows us to score another 3 points against Vietnam.
Matchday n.10: direct clash against Syria who find themselves 3rd (therefore directly qualified for the World Cup) and us 4th (distanced by one point), in any case already with the ticket in hand for the playoffs.
I remember this match as one of my best matches played in HT, not so much for the tactical part, but for the coldness and clarity of making a difficult choice (CA in an inside/outside game) which was rewarded in the end ( thanks also to the opponent's mistakes).
I won't go on for long: Gamal signs his first and only (at the moment) HT and takes us, jubilant, to the World Cup (WC), thus reaching our goal (25452600).
With 8 goals to his credit, with 3 games less than those who reached the final stages, Gamal graduates as CC 34's top scorer (it's a shame there isn't a player award for this result).
On the wave of enthusiasm we go to the world championship, as an outsider, with the hope and desire to try to do something good.
Allawi, at this point, is starting to be close to 22 years old but, obviously, we decide to take him as overage (you can't leave someone like that at home).
Tough group, Gamal only plays 5 matches and scores in two of them: (25961495) and (25961545), still contributing significantly to the team's ratings.
How did it end? Well, thanks also to the performances of my "golden boy", with 17 points we qualified for the first time in r2 of the WC: [ b]history had been written[/b].
To be honest, we would then rewrite it the following year (generation 35) arriving at the WC for the 3rd consecutive time and for the second consecutive time at r2; new record for this small nation.

Gamal was and is the heart of my team and the leader of that generation who, as said, underlined and reiterated, wrote the history of the Iraqi U21.

Gamal's adventure with the national team ends with 14 goals in 36 appearances.

The accumulated experience, the almost unhindered growth and the good fortune of having trained managers leading NT at the right time, HPE-regia5 (911825) before and, currently in office, MikiLoeb90 (12827786) allowed Allawi to be called up early also in NT.
The boy has talent to spare and his first appearance for the senior national team, in a friendly, sees him among the scorers (28434305).
Since his debut he has been on a permanent basis in the NT until now, collecting:
20 friendly appearances with 5 goals
2 Wild Cards games with 2 goals scored
1 presence in WC
10 appearances in CC with 5 goals to his credit
6 appearances in the NL

Gamal, with his career still ongoing, has scored 12 goals in 39 appearances for the senior national team.

Returning to Allawi and my team, I can tell you that today he is a "young" 27 year old, with 176 active appearances in my team and 87 goals scored (116 in his career total).
The seasonal goal is to try to reach 100 before the team closes and is sold.
Why I'm closing is another matter but rest assured that Allawi “GOLDENBOY” Gamal, will remain active on the field in search of other, many new successes, both in the NT and club fields.
In fact, I can already say that I have convinced (without too much effort actually) a dear friend of mine to take him into the ranks of one of his clubs, thus giving him new life and thus allowing him to play for NT again.

I won't hide from you that, being the romantic that I am, I have shivers when writing and a bit of headache... but I know that my dear, dearest Allawi will go into even better hands than mine!
