Now it starts

My goal is to progress as high up the league as I can go with my home grown players. This season is the one I've been waiting for, as in these coming weeks my first youth academy players are going to become old enough to promote into the first team..

You are all very welcome to read about my journey and this first article about my project HG here in England. The concept for my new team stemmed from an suggestion I found listening to a Finnish Hattrick podcast where a guest had his team based around (home grown) HG players. The whole strategy seemed very appealing to me, so the seed for this idea was well and truly planted (somewhere in the back of my head).

At the beginning of season 85 I made the decision to become a paying supporter and receive a 2nd team. I then had to decide which country's league I wanted to start in. As a European football fan, the dream for some day winning the English "Premier League" title was more than a good enough motivation to begin the search for an available spot in the English divisions. My first full season has now come to an end and so I´m soon going be able to begin promoting the young lads from my youth team. I'm exactly two days away at the time of writing this, to be precise.

The first youth pulls won´t be so great, as the majority of my original youth players will not add any real value to my senior team but they could become good additions into my current training cycle. These first players will, however, have some time to train with the first team before I can promote the better youth players found by my scouts, these are the ones who will become the real core of my team.

I do believe there is a fighting chance to promote to the top tier as long as everything is well planned and organized. The process will be a long one but I am hopeful that it will pay off in the future.

The English leagues are still something of an unknown quantity and somewhat to my surprise, I managed to choose a team in a division that "died" during the season and as a result we are also getting promoted. We will happily accept the promotion even though it was never part of the plan to get promoted in our first season.

I will try to keep my progress up in the Playfull Pandas press releases, when the first new youth pulls join the senior training cycle.

With playfull regards,

Lazyasasloth
