Why Hattrick is still an excellent game

In this article, I would like to show why Hattrick is still an excellent game for me personally even after many years and why I really enjoy playing it.

I have been the proud manager of my team for more than five years now. Around 20 years ago, I had a team that I managed for seven years using an old email address.
Since then, hattrick has changed enormously. It has fewer active players, the visual appearance has changed, and many innovations and adjustments have come into effect.
In this article, I would like to show why hattrick is still so much fun for me even after 25 years as a purely text-based online manager game and various changes. Just like hattrick, I have changed a lot in the last 25 years.

In contrast to most football manager games, the focus here is not on quick success, but on an ongoing, consistent strategy that can sometimes extend over real years. In such a fast-moving world that we live in, the slowing down of the game is a nice, welcome contrast.
Unlike many other manager games, there is not a game every day, you do not have to be online every day and worry about missing anything if you do not have time to log in for a few days. Since the motivation for hattrick is not always the same for most people over the years, this is ideal for the time when you want to or spend less time with your virtual team.

In times when motivation is higher, there are always enough ways to spend time with your team/s, even if there are only two official games a week. This is another very positive thing about hattrick: the countless ways to play the game. If you only want to play the league, cup and friendlies, it can be enough to be online for just a few minutes a week and still play a reasonably successful campaign. However, if you want to spend more time on hattrick, you can easily do this with detailed opponent analysis, public tournaments, ladder games, by collecting as many national flags as possible, achievements and many other things.

The countless variety of ways you want to run your club makes it extremely exciting. Are you concentrating on purely sporting success and want to climb the ranks as quick and as far as possible with older players who have lower wages? Do you try to build a team around some promising players from your own youth and be successful with it? Do you completely ignore the championship and try to make a run in the cup or try to be successful in the league and the cup at the same time? Do you always play with the same formation because of the player material, or do you buy and train players so that you can play in different formations as flexibly as possible? Are you looking for success with pure midfield power, with a defensive strategy, offensive superiority or with balanced parts of the team? Do you want to use the tactical options such as counter, playing creatively, etc.? If the team has been built up according to a certain strategy over many seasons, but the team has reached its zenith, a new strategy can be used when you restart in a lower league, depending on your mood, in order to become successful again. Therefore, the fun of the game remains uninterrupted even after many real years. This is of course the same if you try to implement the same strategy again.

Of course, there is also the possibility of completely forgoing sporting success, of accepting relegation in order to save money for a few seasons with training and selling talent, and then attack again. Alternatively, an attempt is made to play in a high league for as long as possible. There are no limits to the strategies, which means that every manager can play hattrick the way he/she wants to play it. Personally, I am currently training three players from the Senegalese U21 national team with my main team and some promising U21 candidates from different countries in my second team. It is always great when a player I have coached can play for the national team and my hattrick experience has expanded into another area that was previously unknown to me.
The fact that hattrick is a "free to play" and not a "pay to win" game clearly sets it apart from most current games and is a welcome change. If you want, you can support the developers with an supporter package without getting an advantage. The resulting possibility of being able to open second and even third teams brings another exciting component into the game. Completely different strategies can be pursued here than you have in the main team, which makes hattrick a lot more interesting and allows more time to be spent on the platform.

If this is still not enough, you can easily talk in numerous forums and federations with other managers about hattrick or completely different topics. The active community is a big and important point that makes hattrick so worth playing, because there can be friendships formed in real life and interesting discussions always take place and new - but of course also experienced managers - are offered detailed information and assistance . They are also a nice pastime when the team/s do not need much attention for a certain period of time because a training program runs for months or something similar.

Finally, I would like to say that there are certainly many other points that make hattrick so interesting and exciting that I have not mentioned in this article. Feel free to mention them in the comments if you want. I am also looking forward to the announced changes and adjustments that are coming soon. I am sure that these changes will make hattrick even better and that we will keep playing the game that we enjoy so much for many more years and fight for sporting success (or not).

If you liked the article, I would of course be very happy about a Like. Milli91
