HETC - Growing Egypt user by user!

Over the past few seasons, Egypt has grown in many leading indicators that show talent pool depth.
- # of 2k HTMS28 players
- # of age 17 year old players
- # of active youth academies

Why has Egypt seen this sudden growth? Let's find out together in this article.

When I first joined Egypt NT staff in 2020, we would always throw ideas at a dartboard at how to compete? Golden Generation, More trainers and what not.

One thing we looked at was past examples of success, user Pernaug in USA had helped USA win the U20 World Cup and we wondered... How? Good luck, Organization? Maybe, but, in my opinion, I think he did it by organizing and growing the USA community…

Maybe we could replicate with Egypt?

So user Tellistto & myself set out on a journey to galvanize Egypt… which is no easy task.
We had almost no forum interaction, users who spoke many languages, and minimal interactions in league chat.

I setup a Discord server… it was simple, easy to administrate and it’s a easy/free way for people to communicate.

Then we invited all our Egypt users to come join us. Many said no thx but a few signed up & “HETC” “Hattrick Egypt Team Community” was born…

We started at maybe 10 users but we slowly grew… inviting new Egypt squads to come & discuss youth academies, how to compete, young Egypt players…

Our U20/U21 & NT staffs would host game parties and we created a fun Cup Fantasy game that’s easy for people to play…

Now almost 50% of Egypts active users have signed up & many actively participate in the server.

We have energized some past Egypt legends like Soltan and advertised Egypt so many new active users have now signed up with Egypt.

Then what do you know something interesting happened. Our talent pool grew!?! Higher HTMS28 players in Egypt were promoted, More players had the correct specs & more players were trained.

Now our U21 is starting to find some continued success qualifying for the World Cup two seasons in a row and continues to see improvement in roster strength cycle after cycle.

Me personally, I find HETC one of the best parts about Hattrick. Whether it’s busting user Biiboo about “BTF” & “Fathy”. Playing Cup Fantasy having 20 cup games on live viewer at once or screaming goal!!! As our NT squad takes the lead…

Who knew…. Community is the secret sauce…
