HTnini | The exciting HT CHPP mini game (new Seasons challenge)

Do you remember sticking all of those famous footballers’ faces into the Panini albums all those years ago? Did you manage to find all of those special silver/gold cards? Or were you forever trading with your friends? Did you know that there’s now a similar game that’s part of the Hattrick world?

Well, I’m delighted to be able to be talking today with CHPP-Teles who is the creator of HT’s own version, the popular HTnini game and his plans for its evolution, as well as introduce the new Seasons challenge that is coming very soon!

Hi Teles. Lovely to have you here. Please, let’s have the customary tell us a little bit about yourself moment?

Hi Synth, thanks. Well, I'm 40 and currently I am an Engineering Manager, I have a background of 15 years in development, websites and mobile applications and have played Hattrick since 2003 with my first team and I have created various chpp apps over time, the most recent one of which is HTnini :)

And what a great idea it is too! Personally, I am a big fan both for the game, and as an extra something to do when I log in. So, what made you come up with the idea?

HTnini is actually a very old idea I had probably 10 years ago. I started to develop it but I made it too complex and I never finished it so nothing was ever published. This time around I started with a different focus, made things simple, easy gameplay and published it quickly.

You have stickers with some specific characteristics and you can build albums in which to stick them. A system of points and some coins to buy, sell and exchange stickers means users are able to play, have fun and spend time in a nice little game :)
And they have spent time, as the game has now been around for almost 2 years.
The game is still evolving as I have some other ideas, the users also give very valuable feedback that make my todo list into a book!

And what other things do you code?

Currently I do not develop any other apps. I still maintain PHT which is a chpp framework available for chpp devs, it makes development easier to handle hattrick data available via chpp.
I would never have thought that htnini would become a game with so many features, and in the same time I would spend so many time to enhance it, this is crazy but exciting! Hattrick users love it, spend hours everyday on the game, some of them play HTnini more than Hattrick! 😉

How many managers have you currently got actively playing?

Since the beginning around 2000 users joined HTnini and currently they are several hundred active every day. Having more users playing the game is interesting because it means there are more cards, more exchanges and that changes the albums that can be built, and the activity increases the life of the game tenfold for each player :)

Is there a special card that most people have stored in their deck?

It's hard to follow precisely. However, as cards have points and some are more rare than others, I think some NT cards and those of some of small countries are like jewels of crown 😊
Currently I can see there are 16 cards of two players:
(416184572) Tihomir Apostolovski
and (444306383) Theodore Levy in people’s decks.

I have neither of those two! 😉 Now, I have managed to get a few of the records, but I'm wondering how many different records there actually are for people to go for?

HTnini has a lot of records and new are added from time to time. I didn't know before exactly how many a user can try to get, so to answer I took time to determine the number and the answer is 692. This mean an user can get up to 692 records composed of 356 in a global context and the same number in the context of his country.
According to this number, anyone is able to get a record in the game, this is cool and I hope this can be a motivation for new users :)

Definitely. I've even had a bit of side fun building a "coneheads" album just like the HT achievement. So many things you can do. Anyway ... on to the big news ... tell us more about the mew "season competition" that is coming up? What can managers look forward to?

At the moment, players will build albums for themselves or they will be in a one-to-one battle with another user.
Seasons is the next big feature that will be live soon, and I’m really excited about it.
You will be able to compete with others on an album during a whole hattrick season, there will be new records to get and lot of prizes for the best albums. This will be a way to play with a different time frame, so probably a new tactic to find :) And I will introduce some new little features requested by users, I think this will be really cool. 😁

Sounds excellent. I think I need to start saving some money. What are the recent additions to the game?

There is a battle system where users fights on the same album, the system has evolved and the v2 has been published soon. The goal was to have a more dynamic system and give users better equity than it was on v1 as well as more prizes. It now means that all card types are needed and that improves the market for all card, not just the jewels.. The first feedback of it is good and users like the new battles so this is a great achievement.

Other additions were that I added new types of cards with young people and managers, this opens up new abilities in the game, diversifies the cards and allows new exchanges, new records. I hope in the future to add another type of cards with the stadiums but I need more info in the chpp data from the HTs. 😉

Is there a HTnini community?

Absolutely, and this is fantastic! The HTnini forum (/Forum/Overview.aspx?v=0&f=1309533 - main chat thread - (17469825.1)) is very active, users ask help, propose cards, discuss about the game, tactic, records, ... as well as some non-HTnini subjects, and this reveal a solid community invested in the game. Users comes from a lot of countries, this melting pot is wonderful, thanks to all of you!

--- Well, thanks very much for spending some time with me today. I’ve been involved for a long time in the game and can thoroughly vouch for its fun. As for that here's my suggestion for when you do come and join!

Come and join in, use the following referral code (7KAEHG6T) to get 10 bonus cards and 3 NT players right off the bat. Yes, it’s my personal code, but we’ll use it also to track how well this post was received (which will be interesting feedback for the HTs too).

My advice is:
* Open one album to see what you get and see the structure.
* Open one “easy” country album
* Open an “own players” album
* And join at the bottom of the battle (even if you don’t win the first one - check your opponents status!) as you’ll get good info into the game and how that works.

Then before you start buying or selling any cards, sticking any in an album, you should claim your free DAILY gift, and then double-check the market, and then just go for it.
Cards are listed for three days and they are not an auction. You set the price. If they don't sell, you can whip them off the market or let it expire and relist for a new price.

Build some money, and try not to overspend too quickly. The cards can always come back round to the market later.
