To the top with Alcoaman, new U20 coach

Who is Alcoaman (9937992)? Let’s have fun discovering him thanks to this 360 ° interview.

Each interview starts with the usual ritual question: introduce yourself to your constituents
Hello all together! My name is Michael and I´m living in a small village with 300 people named Wöhle, approximately 45 km south of Hannover in Lower Saxony. I am probably one of the older managers here in Hattrick, near to retire from work in the future.

How did you experience the election period?
Well, it was not the first time for me to be a candidate for a job as U20- or NT-Coach. So this time was not really exciting for me. I tried it several times before in Saudi Arabia, but I wasn´t sucessful.

Tell us about Monday after finding out that you were elected….
Of course it was the first I was looking for when I logged in Monday morning. To become a U20-Coach does not happen every day!

You are at the first experience as a coach, you will be full and enthusiastic ... tell us a little about the first impact with the new experience
Sure I was full of enthusiathm. Although I already was Assistent Coach in Saudi Arabia before and responsible for a friendly season, it´s something completely different. In a friendly period you can do some exercises, but now...in a WCQ...it counts.

What were the first difficulties?
To analyze the quality of the players. I also had in my mind the changes of the new World Cup system. As I have written in my candidacy speech, it was my plan to build up a GG. But the HT´s have crashed it. So I had to find a plan B.

You definitely feel very well moving to involve the community and be transparent in your choices, it is very appreciable; do you know that not all managers are so available and open to dialogue? What do you think about it?
This is one of my major targets. To be successful you need a good cooperation with the community. In the past I saw a lot of U20/NT managers coming and going, doing a "one-man-show"...mostly it ended in a desaster. Very sad to see that!!!

How would you like to be able to play with the U20?
Our youngsters are the future of the NT!!!

Which reality did you find instead?
If you mean the players I´ve found...to be honest...it´s a weak generation, the younger players will be better in my opinion. But now, after 4 matches played, I´m positively surprised about the results

Tell us about your highly respected staff and how you plan to organize the work.
Highly respected is the right word! I´m very happy to have managers like Fieldy, Berti, ElShau and all the others around me. I had the great luck to be a part of the Silver Medal staff in 2018. Organizing it was not very difficult because I knew their interests from before.

How much weight do you give to youth?
Very important. As I already told above, they are our future.

What gaps did you find in the U20 squad?
Oh, there were a lot. Some players weren´t trained properly, others were not found, missing specialities and so on. The lists would be too long here. But now, after some weeks being in the job, I´m surprised about their perfomances. I didn´t expected that.

Analyzing the opponents in qualifying, how do you think we could place ourselves?
I think we are in an excellent place with analyzing.

I guess the collaboration with NT is at its best ...
Yes, couldn´t be better because of the brillant work in the "almost Golden" Silver Turn.

Speaking a little more specifically about you, how long have you been in the national team world?
I made my first experiences in 2015 or 2016(I don´t remember exactly) when I got the chance to scout a 17-yo generation in Saudi Arabia for a future qualification(no GG!). It was a great generation who qualified for the first time for the World Cup as No. 3 in the world ranking list after the WCQ!

How was the interest (or rather the love for how I live it) born for this world?
Well, I was searching for an online football manager and found hattrick by google. It looked very simple to handle for a beginner, but I´ve made almost all mistakes a newbie can do here.
After around one real year I started to understand how Hattrick works…

Tell us about your experiences as a scout
I made my first experiences as a U20 Forward Scout in Saudi Arabia. A new coach was just elected and he and his staff became warm with the community. In these election I also was candidate and I had prepared a complete staff for the case of winning it...we don´t. After some time he asked the community for help in scouting a future generation. I proposed him my team and we got the jobs.

How do you manage to reconcile the coaching and managerial work of your three teams?
That´s a question I sometimes ask myself. At the moment I have enough time for it. But before I had to check everything twice or even more, hoping everything what is necessary has been done.

We are at the end, another classic question: you and hattrick ... by how much, how and why ...
Because Hattrick is a fantastic game, even my wife is playing it since 2011. When I am at home (and not sleeping) I´m also online!!!

Personally, I'm glad you won because you're proving serious and really interested in the Iraqi cause ... leave us one last comment / thought
I would like to say "Thank you" to the community for their confidence to be the U20 Coach of Iraq. I hope I will not dissapoint you!

I thank the availability and accuracy of the answers that Alcoaman gave us; surely taking over from a coach, former world champion, who was managing the national team according to his ideas is not easy. The new coach is certainly to be commended for the commitment he is putting into it, the results he is bringing and the aggregative capacity he is putting in place to make the community increasingly active.
Thanks once again and good luck for the 5th day!

Come on little lions!
