Welcome to MeisterAndy, new U20 coach

Hi community, in this article we will deepen the knowledge of MeisterAndy (186942), between past present and future a few days after his installation on the bench of the u20 Wales national team.

Let's start immediately with the key question: When you applied, did you expect to be able to win?
Oh sincerely not. I entered my name in the list of candidates with the intention of writing my resolutions later; After a few days, i forgot to do it and without a statement, i thought to have no chance of victory. It came different.

What made you want to apply as a Wales U20 coach?
First, i like Wales as country and his hattrick community, so i decided to have my 2nd team SC Grasshoppers United (1628787) here (i am so happy of this choice).
I felt the need for a new experience in hattrick so i tried to propose myself as coach of the u20 national team, the result was surprising.

Did you recover from the emotion of the appointment?
Yes quickly because i need to get all of my concentration to the qualification games. However, the feeling after the election was awesome.

Now let's take a step back (on the national speech we will return); you have been registered since 2002, tell us about your experience in hattrick from the beginning …
From the beginning, i was fascinated about the complexity of the game. I loved the idea to manage a team with real time games and to play a league in realistic timetables. I did many mistakes and i apreciate many changes that the game had. When hattrick lost a lot of members i was afraid thinking that the game would not exist one day anymore. However, it came different and that is great. Many times i loose match with no reasons and many time i won thanks a lot of fortune...so, that’s the game. I definitely understand that hattrick is a strategic and tactical game with an important randomness but also with an enormous and very active community.

In 2013 you opened a second team in Wales, how come this choice?
I became supporter by a mistake. I wanted to give the supporter package to a friend but wrongly bought it for myself. I liked the new stuff and the player faces so i decided to remain supporter. Naturally a second team was needed, so i started to search where open it; for me was important to join in a small community with a pure community, for which, with my friend, we chose Wales.

What difference did you find between the German and the Welsh communities?
I can´t really answer it because i am not that deep into the German community; It is so big. I have more connection with the Welsh community, in fact i feel here like in a family because there are less manager and the relationship is easier..

Make an assessment of your career, comparing your two current teams and the results obtained with both
My 1st Team FV Waldstetten 2002 (129375) was founded in League VI in Germany. I did a lot of mistakes at the beginning of my HT career (like switching the training every day) and didn´t develop the team very well. However, i learned and understood the game better and better until i could lead the team to the League IV, on 2nd place. After that result, i decided to reconstruct the team and now i am on the way to back to League IV. I’d like to reach League III...some day.
After all mistakes that teached me more things , i started with my 2nd team (Grasshoppers) on League IV in Wales together with two friends. From beginning, i could improve my team more and more until now, hoping to play the Wales League soon.

During your life in hattrick, you will surely have had moments of despair ... can you tell us some? Have you ever thought about quitting the game?
One Moment i´ll never forget: The last game in the season, a win away from the championship in league IV in Germany. I was the better team, leading 3 – 0 until minute 83. Within 4 minutes, i got 3 goals against and loose the Championship. That was horrible. I still remember where i was and what i was doing on that day. Will never forget (605446059)

Let's go back to the discussion that most concerns us, the U20. It is true that you recently took office, but have you already had an idea of what you have in your hands (in terms of quality of players)?
No, i didn´t have any idea. However, that wasn´t important for me. I wanted to make the experience to be a national coach and so i didn´t care about the quality of the players. I’d like to build something like i did with Grasshoppers. However, luckly the staff before did a good job and now i can overtake a great team.

What goal did you set for these qualifications?
I want to reach the 4th place.

What can you already tell us about future generations? Have you already managed to find a moment to see future talents?
I already found great talents, one of them i sold not long ago, but at the moment i don’t have a complete overview about everything. The first time as a national coach is very stressful and the biggest challenge is to organize yourself. Now all is organized and soon i will have a better overview.

If you could make a request to the community to help you with the national team, what would you ask?
Can you please do all the best to train good wales youngsters?” That what I would ask, because cooperation with managers is the primary step to build a great national team.

Tell us about your experience with the national teams (scouting etc ..)
I have none. This aspect of the game is completely new for me. Fortunately i have a good staff and it let me to improve my knoledge. I also “study” a lot and follow discussion on the forum.

Speaking of your way of playing, what kind of manager are you (offensive, defensive, etc ...)?
Definitely offensive. I like the feeling i could shoot a goal anytime. So you always can hope.

Which module do you prefer to use and why?
I don´t get this question, i can’t show my cards :)

How do you fight your relationship with random?
Random is a foundamental aspect of this game... If i lose I hate it, if i win I love it. But that´s the game. Normally i can deal with it.

Tell us some funny anecdote about you (related to the game)
I had a random friendly with a Portuguese team and wrote some sentences with his manager. After that he sent me a bottle of Portuguese vine and i sent him some German beers. So a new hattrick friendship was born. After that we exchanged some stuff sometimes and now i am owner of a Benfica scarf and he has a VfB Stuttgart scarf.

Hattrick as sociality, how do you live it?
If I have time i write some press statements but the most is chatting with guys of my league. I am very happy that hattrick created chatting function, it is so easy. Normally i get very much ht-mails but i hope in a strong reorganization because at the moment i find mailbox very chaotic.

Do you want to add something?
I wish all the managers a lot of fun in this game and stay healthy.

We have come to an end, I thank the coach for having managed to carve out the spaces between the thousand commitments of hattrick in order to grant us this interview with curious implications.
The work with the national team will be long and demanding and we all hope to be able to work well for the future and maybe be able to take away some satisfaction even in the short term.

Go MeisterAndy and go Wales.
