Interview with Facundo83

A few weeks ago, Facundo83 (71851490) managed to win the second edition of the Curacao Cup. I had a short interview with him about his team, Curacao and his appearance in the Hattrick Masters next season.

Congratulations with your victory! Did you expect to win this trophy?
I knew I had a good chance, but I think I had even more chances in the first cup edition where I came out in the semifinals against Hamunaptra with an incredible dose of bad luck.

Why did you chose to open a team in Curacao? In a press announcement you released shortly after the final, you stated that you don't even know where Curacao lies on the world map ^^
Yes, it's true. I remember the existence of the Netherlands Antilles, but I didn' t know that they are now independent with the name of Curacao. I liked this name .... Curacao .... I like this Portuguese sound ... it reminds me ''selecao'' .... and above all it reminds me of a famous Italian song called '' cacao meravigliao'' (translate: the wonder cacao) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GdGDSrDbCg)

What was your training plan when you started this team?
''Plan'' is a little exaggerated, eheheheh ..... let's say I started training keepers because I had no money to invest to do something different and I wanted to be competitive right away.

You already had a second team in Trinidad & Tobago before you came here and started a third one. What have you done different compared to your second team?
In T&T the speech is different, also from a point of view of feelings.
Ten years ago, when I was in the university, my roommate became the U20 coach of that nation. Together we did an exciting world qualification tournament and and the next season I became their NT coach.
We shared the national team matches with our friends between one hangover and another.

But my heart is big and perhaps now, slowly, another small Caribbean island is managing to conquer me.
Obviously I can't be competitive right away in Trinidad with my second team, so now I'm training my youngters with the idea of starting to play competitive in a couple of years.

It seems like you will promote to the second division after this season. What was your strategy in competition matches - they were a lot easier for you since you play in a league with 5 bots - compared to the Cup matches?
Yes of course. When I arrived at the third series, my group mates immediately changed series, but instead InterMec, one of the strongest teams currently in Curaçao, decided to enter my series. I don't know why he did it. In any case, the championship was just the two games between him and me. Obviously in the second division it will be different.

Your team will be one of the contestants in the Hattrick Masters next season. What do you think of this adventure? Do you think that you have any chance to reach - let's say - the 3th round?
Unfortunately I will not be competitive and I really think I will go out in the first round already, but I really hope one day to come back with a team worthy of this competition (but I don't know which country I will represent that day....eheheh)

What are your expectations of next season, besides the HM?
The plan is:

- go to the second division
- don't go in the same serie where In memory of sbneo will be
- put some my original team players on the field in HM
- play again against Motorhead in the cup and win him again (easy ^^)
- - find a little champion in my youth team (difficult)
