Zigmondm under the spotlight

It’s time for Zigmondm to get the interview treatment from your beloved Ed. We’ll talk about his unusually named team, ‘Dylan’s and Owen’s CandyAngels’ and errr… ice cream

1.Starting with the obvious one - what got you interested in Hattrick and how long have you been playing?

I think it has been 10 years since I started my Israeli team, got told about this game in a British forum site (where I met a Welsh girl that became my girlfriend, and now my wife for the last 10 years and the mother of my two boys, guess their names by my team's name...)

2.How on earth did you pick such an unusual team name? Is there a story behind it?

The two boys names are answered on question 1, the Candyangel part was that Welsh girl's username on that site.

3.You look likely to get 2nd in division 3 this season. Do you fancy your chances of pushing on next season and making it into division 2?

Not really, never been about the results for me, at first it was fun, then, the flags, and then I got involved in the U20/NT through players in my squad so it became about training players for that squad, which explains why all my "real" players are from Cymru.

4.You’ve only got one team. Have you ever been tempted to get a platinum/diamond supporter to get a 2nd team? (or have you had one previously)?

Nope, I don't think I'll ever get one (not with money) my money has more "real life" uses then this, sorry.

5.I see you moved your team from Israel to Wales, was this just down to the fact you moved to Wales? Were you tempted to leave the team in Israel? (my team still plays in Berkshire but I now live in Oxfordshire)

After my 1st boy came along, I didn't think I'm going to have much time, so, I thought to start a new team in Wales, and only train local for the U20/NT, and, it was easier to get flags with the Cymru flag than the Israeli :)

6.Are there any changes you would like to see made in Hattrick?

I would love to be able to put players in Hall of Fame without supporter, have more influence on the team if you play only, or mostly, local players, and the more more influence the more home grown players you play...

7.And the obvious next question is what is your favourite flavour of ice cream?

Peanut Butter... Make of that what you will, I'm a nut, I know (wow, wasn’t expecting that answer - Ed)

8.Real Life questions - I notice you’ve got 5 different teams you support on your hattrick page, which one do you actually support and why? Do you go to any matches or just watch on tv?

Hapoel Tel Aviv is my biggest love (got relegated last season only for the second time in it's 90 years existence...) my uncle was a player, then a coach, then the manager of the team, he then became the FA chairman as well. Sadly, a couple of years ago he passed away, losing the Cancer battle... I was born Red (Hapoel Tel Aviv colours) and I guess I'll die red. Ipswich was my first love in English football when I started watching (in the early 80s).

9.Aside from football (real or HT) do you find the time for other hobbies/interests and what are they?

Not really, like it quiet, watching my favourite shows on TV with the wife...

10.And finally I appeared to have missed the question on everyone’s lips - will you be coming to the next welsh meet-up (or even an english one such as the one in London which I believe is on Sunday August 27th and can be reached from Cardiff in a couple of hours by train)?

Don't think I'll do London, didn't even go to the Israeli one that was less than 10 minutes walk from home, but if there will be another one in Cardiff and life and work won't come between me and it, I will surely come. :) (ed makes note to organise another Cardiff event)
