Racing Winnebago coach Ramon Angel Corvalan announced today that the squad was in the process of selling off its senior players in what he described as "a painful, but long overdue rebuild" and what Ne Plus Ultra Ultras President and Hall of Famer Conrad von Hilst termed "a blatant cash grab." In any event, this marks the end of a 18-season journey, with accomplishments including, but not limited to:
● Two Major League seasons;
● A US-record three Voyager (Emerald) Cup titles;
● Five players (Tracy Jamison, Saul Aguilar, Frank Newton, Curt Gavin and Tummas Samro) gathering a combined 40 NT Caps and 23 U-20 Caps while in Racing colors;
● Winning a Fed record nine HTUM Platinum Cup trophies; and
● Managing to top the NYC and HTUM ladders for a combined 441 days despite losing every single attempt to defend those crowns.
Matching or surpassing this proud legacy will be the task of the next generation of Racing's YA studs, including [file not found] and "that guy, I guess."
