Slightly more than four seasons ago, Ásgrímur Sigfússon (437717158) was promoted from the University of Akureyri youth team to be part of the senior squad FC Akureyrarkaupstaður. He has been the most promising player on the squad for this entire time, appearing in 71 games and marking five goals.

For some time now, the university squad had a promising talent again. Bragi Markússon (447404250) has been nearly everything the scouting group had been looking for; an offensive minded, extremely talented, highly gifted and intelligent young football player. As the day of his seventeenth birthday has arrived, he is no more part of the youth program. He joined the team today and - immediately - was named a starter for tomorrow's game.

As the kid has arrived, maybe some pressure will be lifted off Ásgrímur, who one day could lead this team together with Bragi.

The future has arrived in Akureyri.
