8-29-2017 A Case of Hard Work beating Talent

Tom Robert spent his whole career as a professional footballer with Anstruther AFC. One should think he’s seen it all.
Yet on Friday, 25th August 2017, the youth trainer couldn’t hold back his emotions when interviewed by The Scotsman: „Two of my wee laddies playing for the Scottish national team. Can you believe it!”, he said with sparkling eyes.
And indeed, not only did Jared Breadhead celebrate his 12th cap for Scotland, but Alan Flowerdew also gave his debut for the Tartan Terriers. This surprised even AFC insiders, as the 18 year old Fifer was considered fairly limited in his football skills. It turned out though, that his relentless will to succeed was worth more than mere talent.
"What a year for AFC", concluded the Management. "The first team will still play in league III in the next season and our youth academy produces fantastic talents!".
Anstruther remains proud to train Scottish talents all the way to highest international standards – play up, Royal Blues!
